I wash my hair at least twice a week. Usually on a Sunday to start off the week and on Thursdays, right before the weekend.

Although I have short hair, I know the ordeal and process it takes to get the coif you want! The products that have kept me afloat and always reminded me that “it will be okay” are featured below and I mention more details on my Instagram.

Infusium23: this product has been around forever, I never thought twice about it until I fried my hair one summer from constantly swimming in chlorine and salt water. Granted, at the time I did not know the first thing about hair, especially my hair. A kinky, nappy, and difficult mess! With due time and with enough product like Infusium23, (good ones at that), manageability comes easy.

Tresemme, Heat Tamer Spray: is a consistent product I cannot live without! Give this baby a shot, spritz it on while your hair is damp for an easy flatiron experience I suggest after blow drying. I think this was rated one of the top heat protectants recently.

The Organix products: the Brazilian flatiron spray can be applied on damp or dry hair. The drying oil, Macadamia oil.. Hasn’t let me down thus far! The flatiron spray helps with split ends while conditioning and protecting your hair shaft with little effort. Just spray a couple of spritz’ 4-5 inches away from your hair, comb through and starting straightening! The Macadamia drying oil can be applied after you’re done drying your hair, it adds shine and softness.

Applying any foundation and makeup in general in a hot room with no AC or fan running can probably ruin a gal’s day but these quick non messy BB creams can be applied with just our hands! We look finished and touched up, it’s simply awesome. We all know the awesomeness of BB Creams but most out there in some drugs stores or your fave makeup seller carry BB Creams with SPF in them, even better, almost perfect!

In most beauty balm creams there is a safe dose of SPF, anything ranging between SPF 15 and SPF 35 shall do the trick! We love these affordable but great BB Creams sold at your local Drugstore:

Garnier’s Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream w/ SPF15
From a personal experience, this cream was fantastic as far as coverage and lightness but it took some time for my skin to adjust but once it adjusts it immediately renews; brightens; moisturizes; protects with SPF 15. This was the go-to makeup for the summer. I made my purchase at Target.

Olay Fresh Effects B.B. Cream w/ SPF15

Who isn’t a fan of Olay products? The ultimate Mom makeup but never fails. Olay BB Cream is a moisture surge with a healthy tint of color plus SPF15 for a clear and radiant look. Instantly covers up imperfections. Find Olay’s Fresh Effects BB Cream at your local drug store or online here.

Urban Decay’s Naked Skin Beauty Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 20

Let’s just say, Urban Decay is winning this year by a long shot with their “Naked” line, we love the Naked Eye Shadow palette but the BB Cream is just as awesome! This cream covers just as well as the Naked Skin Weightless Ultra Definition Liquid! Minus the brush application, it goes on smooth while minimizing the appearance of pores and redness (blotches), giving your skin some firmness, and decreases the look of lines and wrinkles. BB Cream SPF 35 (by Bobbi Brown)

We love creams that transform your skin overtime but more importantly, instantly. Last but not least, Smashbox BB Cream ($39.00) on the more pricey side but most definitely without a blink gets the job done. This cream totally has no trouble multitasking moisturizing, priming, perfecting, controls oil, and protects (with SPF) for flawless skin. Personally, it is very smooth almost too smooth for an oil controlling formula but the smoothness redeems itself by essentially re-leveling your skin. Long time no see my viewers! I’m back with an inspiring summer piece one must feast their eyes on. Fashion jewelry designer Thérèse Rosebelle Quiao, new to the market but a pro player, has recently launched a once in a lifetime inspiring collection of necklaces, rings, and even a pair of cufflinks! All the darling jewels a girl could ever ask for. With an incredibly fitting name, Rue Saint Vincent is on the speed track to becoming the new definition of inspiration without words.Thérèse Rosebelle Quiao has mastered the art of inspiring women with a simple piece of “wearable art”. Read on to enjoy an interview with the crafted Rue Saint Vincent creator Thérèse Rosebelle Quiao.  

BCrash: What inspired you to give your line the name “Rue Saint Vincent” and what does it mean to you?

T.R. Quiao: Rue Saint Vincent is a street in the Montmartre district of Paris, a city I hold very close to my heart. Montmartre was known to be the home of many 19th century Bohemian artists like Matisse and Renoir. The brand name was actually inspired by a song of the same name by 1940s French singer, Yves Montand. I was listening to that song when I first began dabbling with jewelry and it seemed to be the perfect fit. Couldn’t get it out of my head.

BCrash: What was your inspiration and drive to begin creating beautiful jewelry designs?

T.R. Quiao: I began creating jewelry because I was searching for something that I couldn’t find. I fell in love with the idea of taking vintage charms and giving them a new life. The creative process was like digging through old baubles and somehow turning them into buried treasure.

The Rue Saint Vincent Philosophy is: “We’re inspired by cotton candy, carousels and first kisses. That moment when you get weak in the knees. When your heart skips a beat. That laughing fit that makes you cry. That person whom you just can’t say goodbye to. That’s what goes into the Rue Saint Vincent jewelry line. Life. Love. A sort of whimsy.”

BCrash: I did some research on you and your background, your marketing and creativity has portrayed you to be an expert in creating the perfect experience and motivation for your shoppers: Tell us about your background and where this side of you really stemmed from.

T.R. Quiao: I’m a PR Girl by day and I moonlight as a designer at night. I’m currently at grad school at Georgetown and I’m working in the marketing industry. I honestly never expected to start selling my designs. I started making jewelry as a hobby until I realized that I had an intrinsic knack for design. I’ve had a love affair with fashion that began at a young age.

BCrash: What is the idea behind your creativity?

T.R. Quiao: The funny thing is that I don’t sketch out my designs before I create them. I have a tendency to buy materials and start creating. Sometimes, I don’t even know what a piece will look like until I finish. All of my jewelry is carefully handcrafted so each piece is one of a kind.

BCrash: What direction do you see “Rue St. Vincent” heading?

T.R. Quiao: I’m excited to really grow as an artist. My Fall collection, “Earth,” will utilize more natural elements so it will definitely be a testimony to my growth. One of my business goals is to participate in London’s Renegade Craft Fair next year. Wouldn’t that be awesome? I’m also currently selling on e-commerce and to DC locals, but can really see my jewelry selling in boutiques down the road. I ultimately want to incorporate more man-friendly/unisex pieces in the near future.

BCrash: Who are some of the people that were involved in where/who you are today?

T.R. Quiao: I’m family-oriented, so I definitely consider my grandmother as an important style influencer in my life. She loved jewelry- both costume and real. She was always dressed to the nines and exuded an iconic kind of rare beauty. A friend once told me that “those who seek to create art often find themselves alone.” My crazy schedule has made me feel like a lone wolf without a pack, but my friends and family have been nothing but supportive about my line. Thank you for that.

BCrash: You’re welcome. It’s important for us world changing ladies to be close to home. I find that in fashion and beauty, jewelry is an aspect that never gets old or dies, women will always have a love for jewels, what are your motivations for the types of designs you choose to design?

T.R. Quiao: I think I’m inspired by life- music, love, conversations in coffee shops. I keep track of jewelry trends, but I’m not afraid to deviate from the norm. Most of my pieces can transcend seasons and can really become a staple in your wardrobe. I also think it’s important that the majority of my line is affordable and is accessible to people with different budgets.

BCrash: Thank goodness for you! It’s hard to find heartfelt work and have to pay an arm and a leg for it! A few other fans of yours have explored and purchased your products and have felt absolutely beautiful as soon as they put on one of your necklaces – How did you create such a dynamic feeling through your jewelry?

T.R. Quiao: Many of the pieces are wearable artwork. I think my line has a way of invoking a child-like sense of wonder. Certain pieces like the “I-Spy” necklace attract adventure. I attract a certain type of customer- someone who is style-conscious, curious and bold.

My hair is at my jawline now, it was shorter but I’m growing it out! So excited, I’m ready for luscious hair that I know I can have, just takes patience.

These 2 products were my effort and attempt at good upkeep for my hair which it needs, but these products are one big NO-NO. On the left the Full Repair serum makes my hair feel gritty (it’s thick, wavy, and frizzy normally) but I bought it for the sole purpose of protecting my ends whilst repairing them. As for the curl refiner on the right, I pictured it to work wondrously, NO. It only frizzed up my hair more and dulled it too.

My next plan, deep conditioning 3-4 days a week and minimizing heat, (more air drying). Let’s see if it works! I’ll update you.

Maybelline’s EyeStudio gel eyeliner is one product that cannot disappoint. I love it! Although to be honest, I was like a puppy touching and smelling grass for the first time. Nonetheless I grabbed the little thin brush it came with and started to paint away at my lids!

It’s not messy, in fact it’s very neat, bold, elegant and definitely easy to use. Seriously, if you know how to hold a brush and really want to line the actual shape of your eye this is the product for you. Especially for me, I’m an eyeliner Pen lover but this is my new fave.

E.L.F is the name of the game. Eyes, Lips, Face has only brushed my thoughts in the past. As of late, I’ve heard ranting and ravings about the very affordable make up line. Notice how I did not use the key word, “Cheap”. Intentionally speaking, the quality of the make up line is simply superb. As of, 2008 a recent short study I conducted by using several customer reviews… Discovered that the quality ever since those few years ago has only gotten better! Here are a few things I needed to put to the test.
- Eyeshadow: A few years ago the colors barely appeared on your lids making it hard for you to justify using the product generously. It took many layers of color to get the color you were looking for. NOW, the eyeshadow shades are incredibly bold by the one swipe of your brush. The colors are awesome.

I’ll focus only on eyeshadow for the review at the moment mainly because that was the biggest issue with the product itself!

As for the company E.L.F, I also came across several terrible reviews about their Shipment arrangements. Some reviews are so bad some customers did not even receive their order! Just imagine the anger. Personally speaking and also going comparing their before and after performance, I might’ve caught the make up line at an all time high prime time , I place my order on Monday… Received it at 11am today! I was not sent a shipped email but that’s okay. I also received everything ( they’re known for being out of stock and not telling you…)

Overall, I give E.L.F a 10 out of 10. I am extremely satisfied!! I also forgot to mention, all the items in the following pictures range from $1-$5. The reason I leave the price for last is because I cannot stress anymore the affordability of the make up line. It is that worth it!!

 With another episode last night Fashion Star has become a hit across the US and in celebration, Daily Candy and Suave have launched “The Style Suite”. The Style Suite made its first debut last night along with Fashion Star’s latest episode, what the “Style Suite” offers is a one in a million affair for us hair, makeup, and fashion lovers! What is it? It is a Free (count us in!) VIP beauty and style lounge which is participating  in four top cities, LA, NY, Chicago, and Miami! The lucky attendees will receive free hair stylings by Suave using their new Keratin Infusion products.

They had us at Free, attendees were invited to mix and mingle, snack and sip and on top of that watch the private viewing of last night’s episode of Fashion Star. If you haven’t caught on or haven’t had the chance to watch an episode yet, the show is a reality fashion competition series which premiered on March 13^th. The hosts of the show are some of the best iconic figures of our time, Elle Macpherson, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, and John Varvartos. On hand at the LA location (on March 13^th) was Daily Candy’s style correspondent, SuChin Pak who gave her awesome input of her personal styling tips and techniques.

Last night’s Style Suite which took place at the famous Gansevoort Hotel came with a lot of great goodies but lastly, four Fashion Star contestants joined us. The contestants who hung out were Orly Shani, Kara Laricks, Sarah Parros and Nzimiro Oput! It was an absolute honor to have them mingle with everyone. What a great event!

New face, skin, and season equals overhauling your collection of makeup and tools. Let’s begin the overhaul, it’s important to remember when you purchased your current makeup and brush collection, how long ago was it? The following information is actually personal preferences that I recommend for my followers, as I am a part time makeup artist! These are definitely fun and cheap makeup products to get your hands on.

Usually, for powder and liquid foundation make up, these should be able to last between 6 months to 1 year of regular use. During this time your brushes should be cleaned once a week with a gentle (preferrably non-fragranced soap to ensure zero chance of future breakouts) soap, squeezed (not twisted, watch the bristles!) and laid flat out to dry for a few hours. As for your eye shadows, liquid or powder can last the same time as foundation. The time periods described all depend on the cleaniliness and upkeep of your make up in general.

Important: Eyeliner, mascara, and other eye related makeup and tools should and always be replaced after 3-4 months. If you think about it, everyday use of eye make up should not last you longer than 3-4 months, unless you use pencil eye liner! Furthermore, there will not be a thorough explanation for eyeshadow or product listing. In order to join the bandwagon of what’s in and what’s affordable (steering away from Saks Fifth Ave & Nordstrom counters) it’s time to do your research of what makeup and tools are great for your skin this Spring. We consider starting from a clean slate to be a part of Spring cleaning, revamp it all if you can!

Here are some top rated and popular makeup and tools, everything is at a reasonable affordable price with similar or if not the same effects as a high end makeup line. These products are available at your local drugstore.

Foundation & Concealer: The base of color for your face and working palette, our personal favorites to use is a liquid or (here) mousse textured foundation. We like “Dream Matte” by Maybelline, the advertisements were not kidding, by the far the most comfortable and even application of foundation. We pair the foundation with a light concealer by L’Oreal True Match (in a shade lighter color). To throw on top of that to settle and blend even more so is our personal favorite and go-to powder foundation is Bare Escentuals, mineral foundation. We recommend mineral foundation as the last layer of foundation because it’s light, non-comedigenic, healthy, and has SPF in it. Do not fret, there will be a video with similar products to use and how-to use them!

Blush: We recommend L’Oreal mousse blush. A warmer color such as peach which will actually help contour your face. Making it warmer and more likely to glow on your cheekbones.

The best way to achieve a flawless and natural look is the application process which also means brushes and the different types, earlier in the year we had a brief tutorial on brushes and how to use them correctly. For this Spring, we are bringing them back with a small piece. In the side picture, we have “Essence of Beauty” makeup brushes. These are very affordable brushes and you will absolutely get what you pay for, is that such a bad thing? We think not! It still feels amazing when you buy a fresh batch of makeup and brushes, you feel renewed! The brushes shown are the essential tools you need for the best makeup and contouring application. Starting from left to right, the blush brush, small eye shadow brush, small concealer brush (for hard to reach spots), large eye shadow blending brush (to mix those colors well), large concealer brush, and lastly the blender brush. What these brushes have in common are a flawless and neat application. Also, for the set which you can find at your local drugstore, prices range from $15- $20 for the set, not bad!
